We will make our way through North Kessock, Fortrose, Avoch, Rosemarkie, Cromarty and Muir of Ord, stopping to enjoy all that the towns and villages have to offer.

Itinerary
- Stop at North Kessock for some wildlife spotting
- Visit Redcastle - a haunted, ruinous castle with a history extending back to the time of William the Lion, 1179
- Avoch - grave of explorer Sir Alexander Mackenzie
- Fortrose Cathedral - pink sandstone ruin, dating back to the 1200’s, around which the town of Fortrose was established
- Chanonry Point - here the Brahan Seer was burned in a barrel of tar. Also a great spot for enjoying birdlife and possibility of seeing our bottlenose dolphins
- Drive through Rosemarkie. Visit to Groam House Museum April - October
- Cromarty - time to explore this beautiful Georgian town
- Udale Bay - described as one of the ‘most important unspoiled estuarine sites left in the country’ this is a wonderful place to enjoy watching the beautiful birds that make the Black Isle their home, as well as the spectacle of the many migratory birds that arrive here.
- Kirkmichael - a visit to the recently restored Kirk, dating back to the 1400’s
- Muir of Ord - home to the delicious Bad Girl Bakery and Glen Ord Distillery

Highlights
The Black Isle sits just off the NC500, but remains comparatively quiet and undiscovered. It is a peninsula, not an island, surrounded on three sides by the waters of the Cromarty, Inverness and Beauly Firths.
As you journey around the Black Isle, enjoy the views across the firths to Fort George, the hills to our north and west and our local Munro, Ben Wyvis under whose gaze the Black Isle sits.
Enjoy witnessing the changing seasons through the activities of farming and forestry, two of our primary industries. With over 60 prehistoric sites situated across the Black Isle, man has been enjoying the Black Isle for millennia. Now it's your turn.
